Information

Share of part-time employees among wage and salary earners

An employee whose regular weekly working hours under contract are less than 90% of the typical contractual weekly working hours in the industry. Data on wage and salary earners are obtained from the Wage Structure Statistics, which will be produced from 2024 onwards on the basis of the Incomes Register. This causes a break in the time series, and data for 2024 should not be compared to previous years even at the aggregate level. The biggest change from the previous one is that small employers (less than five wage earners) are now included in the population.
