Information

Deficient language skills, %

Insufficient language skills as an obstacle to participation in working life. Based on the question: What may have prevented or hindered your involvement in the working life? and its sub-section insufficient language skills (from alternatives yes or no). The indicator describes the share of respondents who have answered yes to that sub-section. The shares are weighted with regard to the sampling design and the bias caused by non-response. Persons aged 20 to 64 with foreign background born abroad living in Finland. Corresponding data are not available for the whole population.

95% confidence interval lower bound, deficient language skills, %

Confidence intervals express the margin of error associated with figures calculated from a random sample. For a statistic estimated from the sample, such as a mean or a percentage, it is possible to calculate, for example, 95% margins of error on both sides. This can be expressed as: 'We are 95% confident that the true result lies within these boundaries.'

95% confidence interval upper limit, deficient language skills, %

Confidence intervals express the margin of error associated with figures calculated from a random sample. For a statistic estimated from the sample, such as a mean or a percentage, it is possible to calculate, for example, 95% margins of error on both sides. This can be expressed as: 'We are 95% confident that the true result lies within these boundaries.'

Obstacles related to education and/or recognition of qualifications, %

Obstacles to participation in working life related to education and training and/or recognition of qualifications. The indicator represents the share of respondents who have answered yes (from alternatives yes or no) to either of the above-mentioned sub-sections. The shares are weighted with regard to the sampling design and the bias caused by non-response. Persons aged 20 to 64 with foreign background born abroad living in Finland. Corresponding data are not available for the whole population.
